Michael Nicosia

Michael is a native of Niagara Falls, New York.  He is married to his wife Sandy and has two children, Anthony and Laura.  Michael has been hunting since the age of 12, starting in junior archery.  He dedicates most of his hunting time in the areas of Ashford Hollow and East Otto in Western New York's Southern Tier Region.  After hunting season, Michael spends his time shooting at various indoor archery ranges.  He is a veteran competitor of archery leagues and indoor competition including Dick's Sporting Goods and the LaSalle Sportsman Club.  During the spring and summer you can find him on Lake Erie chasing Walleye with his long time hunting and fishing partner, Joe Nicosia, Michael's father.  Some of  Michael's fondest memories of hunting and fishing are being
outdoors, not in the hunt for the game he is after, but with time spent with his many friends and family.

Nick Optis

Nick was born and raised in Yonkers, New York and moved to the Finger Lakes region in 1981.  He attended Alfred State College for Architecture, and resides on Irondequoit Creek in Fairport, NY with his two teenage sons.  He started out fishing in the Long Island and Catskill Region as a young boy and was introduced to hunting as a teen from a family friend; he has been obsessed ever since.  His hunting adventures have taken him from the Alaskan Mountains chasing dall sheep and mountain goats to quails and rattlers in Texas.  His hunting exploits and outdoor photos have been featured in local publications.  His passion is the fair chase of diverse fish and game in New York state; from
the native Brown Trout in the waters of the Niagara to the Black Bear of the Adirondack Mountains.  His most memorable archery hunt was bagging a three-bearded, 23 lb. gobbler in the Finger Lakes Region.

Jeffrey Richardson

An avid outdoorsman, Jeff Richardson grew up hunting and fishing the Finger Lakes, Southern Tier and Adirondack regions of New York State.  A native of Spencerport, New York, Jeff inherited his passion for the outdoors from his father.  At a young age Jeff's father introduced him to the richness and diversity of New York State wildlife.  While Jeff continues to enjoy the lakes and woods
of New York state, his passion for hunting has taken him throughout the United States and Canada in pursuit of trophy game.  Jeff currently resides in Greece, New York with his wife and two children.  Richardson is an engineer by education and a sportsman by obsession.  Whether in the woods or in the water, Jeff has built a reputation as an accomplished sportsman and conservationist.  Most of all, Jeff cherishes the time spent with close friends and family while enjoying the great outdoors.

Ron Wickings

Ron was born and raised on the west side of Batavia, New York, enjoying the outdoors from a very young age.  "I started tagging along with my grandfather, Orlo Berg, he taught me how to trap, hunt and fish."  Ron has worked with his grandfather helping skin and handle fur; Orlo was a local fur trader.  Ron has many outdoor credits to his name including many seminars on predator
hunting and being a licensed fishing guide.  "I have a real passion for fishing the local tributaries for browns and steelhead on my fly rod."  Ron also spends much of his time studying the local insect hatches and creating perfect duplications of different insects.  "I love to share my experience with all willing to learn."
Ron is an avid fly tier and holds many seminars on tying as well as fly-casting.  Ron resides in Bergen, New York with his wife Doreen and three children.  Ron brings years of knowledge and experience to Spurr Outdoors.

Craig Charron

Craig may be best known as an all star hockey player for the Rochester Americans, but hockey is not his only passion!  His love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing has been a lifelong obsession and when he’s not lacing up the skates you’ll find him in the woods or on the water!

Growing up in New England offered Craig a variety of outdoor adventures and he soon took full advantage of all that the region had to offer.  In the spring, Craig would scour the areas lakes and ponds in search of largemouths and chain pickerel and also would pack up his fly rod and head to the White Mountains of New Hampshire in search of native browns, brookies and rainbow trout.  In the summertime, he could be found each day fishing the rips and tides around Buzzards Bay and Martha’s Vineyard for striped bass and bluefish.  His focus in the fall would quickly turn to bow hunting whitetails, and he learned the art of getting close to deer, by trial and error, starting at the young age of 12.

After retiring from professional hockey in 2002, Craig decided to stay in Rochester and raise his family here.  “There are many reasons why my family and I like it here in Rochester , but one of the biggest attractions for me is the great outdoor opportunities afforded to area sportsmen.  We have Lake Ontario and its tributaries to the north, the vast expanse of woodlands and trout streams in the southern tier and also the fingerlakes region. But my favorite is the small suburban woodlots and trout streams that abound around Rochester .  This area truly is a sportsman’s paradise!  I think I’ll stay!”

Terry Allen

Terry's love for the outdoors likely began around the age of 5, when he was taught how to help out on the trapline with his grandfather in Oakfield. From stretching muskrat skins in the basement to running the trapline, together they checked from 200 to 300 traps in the Oak Orchard swamps. When his family moved to Hilton he spent his school years trapping, chasing salmon and spearing suckers in Salmon Creek and fishing for bass in every farm pond he and his brother Jeff could ride their bikes to. At age 12 the area small game were in trouble, and by age 14, armed with his grandfather's Bear recurve, deer were next.  Once he finally connected, many other trophies followed, including some very respectable whitetails and black bears. The outdoor season is continuous for him, spring turkeys, Lake Erie smallmouth fishing, then onto the tractor to fit foodplots. Summer is for  spending time with wife Michelle and daughters Shelby and Lindsey playing and fishing on Butterfield Lake, and catching monster largemouth bass and scouting for deer. Fall brings big game season, then predator hunting. Terry says he cherishes every sunrise he's blessed with. Seems he spends some time outdoors in just about every one of them.
